FOREIGN-OWNED HOMES TORCHED AFTER RUSTENBURG GIRL DISAPPEARS

JOHANNESBURG – The disappearance of a 14-year-old girl in Rustenburg has sparked violent protests in the area, leaving three houses belonging to foreign nationals torched.

Gomolemo Haraba was last seen on Friday while walking back from school.

East End residents believe that Nigerians who lived in the destroyed homes are involved in her disappearance.

The police’s Elsabe Augoustides says that a case of arson is also being investigated while authorities search for the teenaged girl.

“We’re now requesting anybody with information that may lead the successful placing of her to please come forward and phone the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Ernest Modise.”
